Sewing Machine Needles 135×16 DI #18 are professional-grade leather needles engineered specifically for stitching heavy, firm, and dry leather materials. Manufactured by Schmetz, these specialty DI leather needles are designed to penetrate dense hides with precision and consistency.
Unlike standard round-point needles that push fibers aside, the DI blade tip cuts through leather fibers as it penetrates the material. This cutting action reduces resistance, minimizes strain on the machine, and produces clean, uniform stitch formation in challenging leather applications. These industrial needles feature fully round shanks for secure, accurate placement in compatible sewing machines.
Needle sizing is provided in both standard and metric measurements. A size #18 corresponds to 110 in metric sizing.
